My Benefits
The Public Employee Benefits Board of Washington State offers three medical plans and three dental plans for state employees to choose from. It's important to find out what your medical and dental plans offer for the health issues affecting you and/or your family. The Public Employee Benefits Board (PEBB) website has a wealth of information for state employees and retirees about their health insurance coverage.
After you have learned about your possible health risks, talk with your doctor or health care provider about ways to lower risks. You can partner with your doctor or other health care providers and community or worksite resources to make changes that can improve your health. To find out more about the medical plan benefits purchased by you and your employer, refer to your medical plan's certificate of coverage (a booklet listing your benefits), that you will find on the medical plan's web site.

Choosing a Health Care Provider
Choosing quality health care services for yourself or a family member is an important decision. MedlinePlus, a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, has great information about how to choose a health care provider.
The Puget Sound Health Alliance's Community Checkup is a report comparing health care across the Puget Sound Region. If you live in King, Kitsap, Pierce, Snohomish or Thurston counties, you can use the report to view quality of care data provided in the region.
Hospital Quality and Safety in Your Area
Each year, Leapfrog gathers and reports information on hospital quality and patient safety efforts to help patients make informed decisions about where to receive hospital care. Find out about Hospital Quality and Safety in your area.
Another source of information about hospital quality and safety in Washington is the Hospital Quality Measures report on the Washington State Hospital Association website.
